Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
