Recent Information Emerge Regarding the Finding of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies

New information has come to light concerning the shocking deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their residence home on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an session first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the house. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the home, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Subsequently, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently being held without bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family challenged several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

The source also pushed back against widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes descriptions of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a event thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Details

According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
