Performer Denies Anti-Vaxxer Stance After Voicing Disputed Coronavirus Documentary

The acclaimed actor has provided his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the safety of vaccines and lauds former government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Provocative Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a well-known publication published by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that Covid was caused by a problematic version of the influenza shot.

The book's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with conspiracy-prone media personality the Infowars host. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's participation in the documentary.

A Strong Statement

Representatives for Liam Neeson have issued a statement pushing back against implications that he supports anti-immunization views.

"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices may occur within the medical sector, but that should never be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment explains. "Liam is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His extensive work with the UN children's agency reinforces his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."

The statement continued that the star had no hand in the project's messaging and that inquiries about its claims are best addressed to the creators.

Central Themes Within the Documentary

In the film, the voiceover read by Neeson features several strong points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to government bodies.
  • It posits that "research has become highly politicised."
  • Kennedy is shown saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
  • It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of Covid vaccines, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Context and Current Debates

The documentary includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was later the subject of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

Recently, RFK Jr directed the Centers for Disease Control to change its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This assertion is repeated in the film, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation reiterating no evidence has been found.

A Past Record of Endorsement

Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has formerly voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

The film concludes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This marks not the finish of our story. This is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
