In a surprising collaboration that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Disclosed

According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and monstrous changes resonate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Changes

The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Additional Material

Players who accomplish the quest will receive an exclusive katana alongside numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Update

This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
